FAQs | Logo and Brand Identity Projects
-
Do you design websites?
You bet. As a highly experienced Shopify developer, I can assist in bringing your business to life by creating an engaging ecommerce website. Shopify is the platform I used to build my own business in 2014, Anchor and Rose Apparel, which grew successfully into a 6-figure brand.
-
How much does a branding project cost?
You can view pricing for my brand identity packages here.
-
How do payments work?
Most projects are split into two payments: a 50% deposit and a 50% final payment, typically due within 15 days. For larger projects, we can arrange a monthly payment agreement. Payments can be made via bank transfer.
-
How long does a branding project take?
It depends on the number of elements involved. A logo project typically takes around one week, while a full identity project can take up to four weeks. More time may be required if additional collateral is needed.
-
How will we communicate?
We’ll kick off with a Zoom meeting or a phone call to discuss your project and present the initial concepts. For shorter updates, we can use email, or I’ll send you a brief recorded video.
-
Do you provide editable source files?
Yes! Unlike some designers who charge extra, I provide the native source files for all final assets. This way, you can either hire a more cost-effective designer for future edits or book me for a Design Day when needed.
-
Can you manage the printing of my project?
Absolutely. If you already have a preferred print supplier, I can provide print-ready files for them. Alternatively, I can oversee the entire print process for you, from recommending vendors to obtaining quotes and ensuring a smooth finish.
-
Can we work together even if there's distance between us?
Definitely. The majority of my clients aren't local, and their projects are completely entirely through communication over the phone or online.
-
We already have a brand identity. Can you help with smaller projects?
If I’ve designed your branding, you can book a Design Day for smaller tasks, such as a single ad, business card design, website page banners etc. It's best to get in touch and have a chat.
Choosing a Designer
-
How can I be sure I’ll like what you design?
With over a decade of experience, I’m skilled at asking the right questions to truly understand your business. We’ll dive deep into your goals, audience, competitors, and brand personality to ensure the design reflects your vision. Since you’ll be involved in setting the parameters, the result will feel just right.
-
But what if I still don’t like it?
It’s natural to worry about a significant investment. That’s why every project includes rounds of revisions, giving you a safety net to make changes as needed. You’re free to stop the project at any point, and any work completed beyond the non-refundable deposit will be invoiced accordingly.
-
How do I know we’re the right fit?
Finding the right designer is important. Take a look at my portfolio; do any past projects align with a style you envision? While designers can adapt to different styles, their strengths tend to guide the overall direction, so it’s best to choose someone whose aesthetic naturally resonates with you.
-
How are you different from other designers?
Some studios focus on marketing and offer branding as a side service, while others outsource design work. I specialise in brand identity design, so when you hire me, you’re getting my direct expertise. I prefer building long-term partnerships rather than transactionally churning out one-off design projects, so if you’re looking for a collaborative relationship that grows alongside your business, I’d love to hear from you.
-
How important is it to get the logo right?
Very! After your business name, your logo is one of the longest-lasting assets. It’s the face of your company, appearing on everything from your website to packaging. While the logo is vital, it’s also important that your designer thinks beyond just the logo and creates a cohesive visual identity that speaks to your brand as a whole.
-
What if you haven’t worked in my industry before?
This is a common question I get asked. Good design principles apply across industries. In fact, drawing on experience from different sectors can bring fresh ideas to the table. I always research your competitors and the industry norms before designing, so whether you want to fit in or stand out, we’ll make sure your brand reflects your goals.
